Brief Project Summary:

With Michigan soybean yield trends lagging behind that of corn for the past three decades, it is likely soybean breeders have not done as good a job on genetic improvement for yield. With each company using its own elite germplasm in their breeding programs and each company having different sets of yield genes along with the possibility of yet undiscovered yield genes in US germplasm there appears to be an opportunity to increase soybean yield by combining yield genes. To do such, we need to map yield genes and identify DNA yield gene markers. With the recent advancement in soybean genetic research enabling us to map yield genes to high resolution, along with MSU's recent purchase of such...

Final Project Results

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
