Brief Project Summary:

Standard dose response studies in the greenhouse revealed a population of Palmer amaranth as being glyphosate resistant in Michigan. Glyphosate resistant Palmer amaranth has been economically devastating in the south; especially, for control in soybean. Confirmation of ALS-inhibiting herbicide resistance is being researched which could cause even greater concerns for Michigan soybean producers. Since Palmer amaranth is not native to Michigan or the north, concerns exist about its emergence pattern which must be understood to develop effective management strategies. Quick action is needed to determine management to avoid further spread in Michigan soybean fields.

Final Project Results

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
