Brief Project Summary:

The objective of the project is to work with the MSU soybean breeding program to screen mapping populations for SDS resistance in the greenhouse and to assist with SDS in-field screening at the Agronomy farm and the SDRC and variety performance trial in Decatur.

Additionally, SDS inoculum will be produced in the Chilvers laboratory for the inoculation of SDS field screening trials on the Agronomy farm. It is essential to have a robust data set for the identification of SDS resistance QTLs and having field data collected at multiple locations assists with mapping and confirming QTLs.
