Brief Project Summary:

The project objectives of this Cooperative Extension program for youth are to:

1. Increase their awareness of how soybeans are produced by growing a garden featuring soybeans.

2. Increase their awareness of soybean use for food and products such as ink, soap, plastic, lumber, etc. by participating in hands-on demonstrations and workshops that feature agricultural science, engineering and chemistry.

3. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of soybean use and potential interest in agricultural careers by providing workshop training to teach younger children about soybeans, taking field trips to soybean farms, visiting soybean test plots, a beneficial insects laboratory, and...
