Brief Project Summary:

Soybean vein necrosis disease (SVND) was first described in 2008 in plants showing reduced vigor, and vein necrosis. Plants were tested for 16 viruses but none were found associated with the disease. Symptoms are widespread in Arkansas (from East to West and North to South) and have also been observed in all states we have investigated (Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky and Tennessee).

After coordinated efforts with scientists at the University of Tennessee, the research team was able to identify a new virus associated with symptoms.
