Brief Project Summary:

The proposed project will assess the gains in Sclerotinia stem rot (SSR) control in improving soybean yield, and soybean quality that North Dakota producers can obtain by integrating the use of partially resistant soybean varieties with fungicides. Susceptible and partially resistant soybean varieties from two maturity groups will be evaluated under three fungicide treatments and a non-treated control. The trial will be established under the NDSU Carrington Research Extension Center's misting system and inoculated to ensure consistent disease pressure throughout the trial. The date enables growers to increase their yield on IDC-prone fields because varieties with the least amount of yellow IDC symptoms will yield the best for fields that have that problem.
