Brief Project Summary:

Numerous viruses infect soybean plants and cause significant yield losses to soybean. With previous supports from Ohio Soybean Council, we have succeeded in controlling three major viruses with transgenic plants that confer RNA interference (RNAi)-mediated resistance. We are now in a strong position to expand our transgenic approach to target other soybean-infecting viruses. As a key step towards this goal, we propose to launch an extensive field survey to uncover all viruses that pose potential threats to Ohio soybean production. Soybean samples will be collected from 80 fields in 40 soybean-producing counties in Ohio and analyzed with the state-of-art RNAseq technology available through...

Final Project Results

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
