Brief Project Summary:

Cultivation methods and the effect on Cercospora leaf blight and purple seed stain need to be understood to prevent deterioration of seed quality. These diseases cause significant yield loss and quality issues. This project involves developing management recommendations for minimizing the effects of C. kikuchii infections. It aims to further define C. kikuchii disease development at all stages of soybean development, determine the effects of foliar fungicide applications on pathogen resistance development and the extent of fungicide resistance, evaluate the effect of seed treatment on it, explore possible alternative hosts and overwintering sites of C. kikuchii, study possible interactions between the disease and soybean insect pests and determine the effects of cultivation techniques on C. kikuchii.
