Brief Project Summary:

Over the last three years, Sudden Death Syndrome (SDS), through molecular analysis, has been identified in 21 Michigan counties. Since it appears to be an annual occurrence, host plant resistance has proven the best control strategy (SDS has been a serious challenge in southern states who now utilize resistant varieties). Since host plant resistance screening of early maturing germplasm (Group II and earlier) is rare, this is our initial effort.
