Brief Project Summary:

Controlling volunteer Roundup Ready canola has been an increasing problem for farmers in North Dakota. Its persistence in soil for many years makes it crucial to control prior to seed production. Prior research has provided control measures for the earlier canola growth stages, but less than ideal growing seasons do not allow for timely applications for recommended herbicides. This project will continue studies to evaluate the effectiveness of herbicides when applied at various rates, spray volumes and canola growth stages. This information will be used in developing information on herbicides registered in North Dakota that can control volunteer Roundup Ready canola.
