Brief Project Summary:

The OSU-OARDC and USDA-ARS soybean breeding programs focus on the development of Ohio-adapted soybean varieties and germplasm. Unlike many seed companies, these breeding programs develop varieties expressly for Ohio-adaptation and the priorities of the breeding programs are specific to the needs of Ohio soybean producers. These priorities include the development of potentially value added soybean varieties with exceptional food grade characteristics or modified fatty acid composition for human consumption and/or industrial uses.
