2015 Soybean Harvest Equipment Day:
Planned, promoted, conducted and evaluated the fifth annual Soybean Harvest Equipment Field Day. The field day was hosted by Chad and Mindy Goetz near Blissfield, MI on Sept. 18, 2015. Ned Birkey contributed significantly to the success of the field day. Nearly 110 soybean producers and agronomists participated in the program. Follow-up evaluation results are below:
-47% (41) of the participants returned surveys.
-98% of the respondents gained new knowledge by participating in the field day.
-79% said that they utilized the information they learned about measuring and preventing harvest losses on their farms during the 2015 harvest.
-Eighteen producers said they actually earned additional money by implementing the new information they learned at the field day.
-The average amount of additional income was $7.96 per acre applied to 7,604 acres, producing an actual financial impact of $60,543 in 2105 alone.
-The participants also provided specific changes they made and listed soybean topics they wanted to learn more about.

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
