Brief Project Summary:

An important parameter of the Ohio P Index is fertilizer/manure placement method. This work intends to be complementary and to accelerate the evaluation and revision of how the fertilizer placement factor is weighted and scored, which will contribute to the ongoing effort to evaluate and revise the Ohio P Index. Research aims to evaluate differences in surface runoff of phosphorus, nitrogen and suspended sediment based on fertilizer placement methods across varying P sources, including both liquid and dry fertilizer and manure, and levels of residue cover.

Key Benefactors:
farmers, agronomists, extension agents
