The objectives of this project are to evaluate the effect of planting date and relative maturity on soybean yield in both traditional and double crop systems, evaluate the effect of seeding rate and row width on soybean yield, develop agronomic strategies that reduce temperature stress on soybean plants to maximize yield, and update Ohio Agronomy Guide recommendations. This project identifies and refines recommendations for soybean planting date, relative maturity, seeding rate and row width to maximize soybean yield and economic return. These agronomic practices were previously evaluated in Ohio more than 15 to 20 years ago. With new soybean genetics, technology and cultural practices, agronomic practices need to be re-evaluated.
