Update:
The Southern Soybean Program is made up of the following states: Kentucky, Tennessee, Texas, Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina. The board met twice in FY 17, once in conjunction with the ASA/USB Board Meeting in St. Louis, Missouri and again in Tifton, Georgia at one of the research sites.

The group approved $50,000.00 of funding for the following project “Developing Irrigation Management Strategies for Soybean Production in Humid Regions of the Southern US” for funding for year two. This project is a joint collaboration of University of Kentucky, University of Georgia, Auburn University, and University of Tennessee.

An article was written after touring the research site and gave an update on the research project.

In addition, we had sponsored the World Soybean Research Conference. We had two representatives planning to attend however due to weather the event was cancelled. They plan to reschedule.

The group re-elected the following to serve as officers: Chairman- George Martin (KY), Vice Chair - Andy Scott (TX) and Secretary/Treasurer – David Womack (TN).

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
