Brief Project Summary:

Edamame production is well-suited to Arkansas’ climate, and the infrastructure is available to process, package, and sell the crop on a commercial scale. This research investigates a novel edamame production system and evaluates the economic feasibility for Arkansas growers. The effort generates and shares information about the utility and profitability of cereal rye cover cropping as a system for weed suppression and soil water retention for Arkansas edamame producers.
