This project monitors for kudzu bugs in Ohio. Early detection allows for alerts and focused management education. It also researches the potential use of pheromone-baited sticky cards as a monitoring tool for stink bugs in soybean. A factsheet on the diverse pollinator species found in Ohio soybeans uses data from previous research finding four dozen different pollinator species in Ohio soybeans, demonstrating that soybean farming contributes to environmental stewardship. The project also aims to determine a baseline susceptibility to insecticides of Ohio populations of bean leaf beetle and soybean aphid, as insecticide resistance has developed in other regions.
