The Northeastern United States has quickly become an important market for biodiesel, primarily due to growing market acceptance of Bioheat®, a mixture of biodiesel and conventional diesel fuel that is used to heat homes and commercial buildings. Several states and major municipalities have adopted Bioheat® mandates, including Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New York State, and New York City.
