Project Summary

This project will advance the mission of the Ohio Soybean Council, by providing the summary of soybean yields (among other crops including corn, oats, and forage) from the oldest experiment in the world on tillage and crop rotation. Under the Drive Innovation Goal, this proposal will help to develop technologies and on-farm practices that support Ohio soybean farmers’ commitment to environmental stewardship, by evaluating how soybean performance responded to different tillage systems and weather patterns over the past six decades. This proposal will also address the Build Understanding Goal by developing and curating a public resource to describe the importance and history of the Triplett-Van Doren experiment as well as provide access to data collected since 1962. This will help to increase understanding among key stakeholders of the impact and sustainability of the Ohio soybean industry.
