Brief Project Summary:
In this project, the specific objectives are to provide free soil health testing to cooperating eFields farmers, generate data to understand how soil health relates to soybean yields, and broadly share knowledge gained. It creates the knowledge necessary to understand the practices that impact soil health at the field scale. Correlating yield to soil health test results will help begin to build the knowledge farmers need to make decisions on the return on investment of adopting practices to improve soil health.

Project Summary

In this proposal, the specific objectives are to: i) Provide free soil health testing to cooperating eFields farmers, ii) Generate data to understand how soil health relates to soybean yields, and iii) Broadly share knowledge gained from this project through a multifaceted outreach approach. This project will advance the mission of the Ohio Soybean Council by creating the knowledge necessary to understand the practices that impact soil health at the field scale. Correlating yield to soil health test results will help us begin to build the knowledge farmers need to make decisions on the return on investment of adopting practices to improve soil health. The knowledge gained from this project will be disseminated through Ohio’s vast extension network to reach as many Ohio soybean farmers as possible. This work is focused on direct demand from Ohio farmers and will allow them to assess the yield impacts that innovative farm practices to improve soil health may have.

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
