Brief Project Summary:

Soybean Vein Necrosis Virus (SVNV) is a new disease of soybeans discovered in the mid-south and seems to be spreading. It was first confirmed in Maryland in the fall of 2011. This project will determine the frequency, timing and severity of SVNV in Maryland through a monitoring program in three locations in the state. The study will also assess differences in variety tolerance by monitoring varieties in the state soybean variety trials.
