Brief Project Summary:

Several studies have investigated the potential use of cover crops for weed suppression in field crops, however, these studies have not been comprehensive. The researchers involved in this project would like to evaluate the impact of barley suppression and herbicide management tactics on: arthropod pests, weed populations, soil moisture retention and soybean yields. It is anticipated that the results of this project will provide soybean producers critical information that can be readily adapted as part of an overall soybean production system for Maryland soybean producers.

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
