Brief Project Summary:

This continuing project will address the question can soil management be used to increase soybean yield and protein quality in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. In 2013, a survey of soybean fields in Maryland was conducted in growing areas most likely to be low in sulfur. Soybean leaf samples were analyzed for total nitrogen and sulfur and most of the leaves were found to have N/S/ rations of greater than 18, suggesting sulfur deficiency. This survey will be continued in 2014 and expanded to include soil samples. The project also includes a greenhouse study where soybeans will be grown on a sulfur deficient soil with graded amounts of sulfur added. The pants and seed produced...

Final Project Results

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
