Brief Project Summary:

This proposal involves five separate studies. The first study will evaluate the effects of poorly-drained and drought prone soils on soybean protein concentrations. The second study will evaluate environmental factors that contribute to changes in amino acid balance of soybeans that vary in protein concentration. Study three will utilize six years of USSEC soybean quality data to model environmental impacts on soybean composition. Study four will develop markers for mutations that affect soybean seed quality traits; and, study five will develop five families of near isogenic lines that are positive and negative for fast-neutron induced mutations that affect protein and oil concentrations.

Final Project Results

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
