Brief Project Summary:

Irrigation of soybean in Mississippi is critical in maintaining consistent soybean yields over time, however, declining levels in the Mississippi Alluvial aquifer have raised concerns over the continued use of irrigation water from this natural resource. This study will evaluate a computer program designed for furrow irrigation systems. The program will determine water use volumes and compare systems for water use efficacy compared to historical irrigation use patterns. The study will evaluate raised bed planting systems, soil types, and other production variables. The goal of the study is to determine whether this computer program could improve soybean yields, reduce irrigation demands,...

Final Project Results

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
