Brief Project Summary:

The purpose of this project is to develop a research consortium that will include Nebraska commodity organizations, UNL, NPPD, and other public and private-sector groups that share a vision for ensuring rural economic development with the reality of limited water and energy supplies for irrigation, biofuel plants, and livestock operations. The two objectives are to increase agricultural income per unit of water used for crop, biofuel, or livestock production, and to decrease peak-load irrigation associated with energy demand.
