Brief Project Summary:

Genes from Arabidopsis thaliana have been identified that are responsible for its tolerance towards freezing temperatures. These genes modify the synthesis of critical membrane compounds enabling them to function at low temperature. Our objective is to transfer these genes from Arabidopsis thaliana into soybean and assess their ability to modify the membrane components of soybean. Modified plants will be tested for their ability to withstand freezing temperatures.

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
