Brief Project Summary:

A novel herbicide-resistant gene discovered in Dr. Chen's lab will be introduced into soybean plants using genetic transformation. The transgenic soybean plants will be evaluated for their abilities in tolerating various types of auxim herbicides. Auxin herbicide-resistant soybean will significantly alleviate the threat with the evolution of herbicide-resistant weeds, especially glyphosated-resistant weeds. This project will provide an opportunity to take gene discovery research through to applied field application and solve a problem that currently poses a threat to Tennessee soybean producers.

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
