Brief Project Summary:

The objective of this proposal is to determine the incidence of "soybean vein necrosis syndrome" in Tennessee. It will help determine the incidence of the two viruses and one bacterium associated with the disease. The project will search for the possible presence of any other viruses associated with the disease and establish the role of the isolated viruses and bacterium as the causal agent. It will develop antibody-based diagnostic assays and search for possible ways to control SVNS.
