Brief Project Summary:

The purpose of this project is to use genetic sequencing to compare resistant and susceptible soybean lines following inoculation with Sclerotinia sclerotiorum. Sequences that are either significantly up- or down-regulated in the resistant soybean breeding lines compared to the susceptible variety are likely to contribute to resistance to this pathogen. Genes identified through this screen will shed light on a poorly understood resistance mechanism, and may reveal key proteins involved in resistance. More importantly, these key players can be either silenced or over expressed in a transgenic approach to develop superior Sclerotinia stem rot resistant lines. This information can also be utilized...

Final Project Results

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
