Brief Project Summary:

The breeding program at Auburn University is planning the release of Au02-2814 as a cultivar this year. This will be a conventional, Maturity Group VIM cultivar. The primary attributes of this line are high yield (14% higher than the adapted check during the years 2006, 2007 and 2008) and high oil content (overall mean of 23% oil compared with normal oil content in the 20 to 21% range). They are also continuing our participation as a cooperator in the USDA Uniform Tests, where they serve as test coordinators for the state of Alabama, and conduct 12 different tests in north, central and south Alabama.
