Brief Project Summary:

This project is a continuation of the soybean breeding program that has been ongoing at the University of Illinois. The first objective of this effort is to develop soybean varieties and germplasm lines that combine high seed yield, disease and pest resistance, and good seed composition. This effort will be focused on nonGMO varieties. The second objective is to identify and utilize through breeding new genes that are useful to soybean improvement. The final objective is to continue the collaboration between the UI and SIU soybean breeding programs.
