When glyphosate no longer provides complete weed control in a grower's field the tendency is for the grower to tank-mix glyphosate with other herbicides in subsequent post emergence applications. However, preliminary research has shown that growers should invest most of their weed management costs (herbicides) in tactics that focus on using effective herbicides early in the growing season. Investing the same amount of money on mid- to late-season weed management (herbicide use) may prove to be less effective for controlling weeds and reduce soybean yield.
