Brief Project Summary:

The ultimate goal of this project is to develop soybean lines with improved nitrogen fixation and improved yields. Preliminary studies in the PI's laboratory indicate that genes contributing in soybean defense against pathogenic organisms also contribute to beneficial associations with Rhizobacteria. Silencing the glycerol-3-phosphate-synthesizing genes promotes nodulation by incompatible Rhizobacteria. Likewise, silencing the defense related genes promote these associations.

Final Project Results

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
