The researchers in this project will apply recently developed photonic crystal arrays that have been shown to enhance sensitivity in detecting gene expression to specific problems of biological and economic importance in soybean: (a) the validation of genes involved in seed protein composition and (b) the validation of genes involved in disease resistance response.
