With support from Michigan Soybean Promotion Committee, the research team has evaluated over 300 early maturing soybean germplasm lines from the MSU soybean breeding program for SDS resistance in both artificially inoculated fields and natural heavy SDS infection sites. Ten lines that showed SDS resistance in multiple locations were entered in Maturity Group II test of the 2010 SDS Regional Tests coordinated by researchers at Southern Illinois University. Two lines, GD2422 and E07080, were as resistant as the three SDS resistant checks at all locations where SDS disease data were collected. Both lines are not known to carry any SDS resistance genes and are considered new sources of SDS resistance....
