Brief Project Summary:

This project continues a very basic research study that makes use of the plant, Arabidopsis thaliana, to identify genes that control seed yield and composition (protein, oil, size & sugar). This plant produces oilseed similar to soybean, but has a much simpler genome. A number of promising genes have been identified. This project is designed to identify similar genes in soybeans and develop molecular markers to facilitate marker-assisted breeding programs.

Due to the innovation and uniqueness of the project these dollars will leverage an additional large grant from the Consortium for Plant Biotechnology Research and the project will be cooperatively funded by the United Soybean Board...

Final Project Results

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
