This continuing project is directed at investigating genetic approaches to increase the photosynthetic capacity of soybean, under the assumption that by doing so will translate to increased yield and/or protection of yield under drought conditions. The strategy is to develop transgenic plants that have traits that address soybean's ability to yield under adverse environments.
This research team has successfully introduced a number of novel transgenes into soybean targeting both input and output traits.
