Brief Project Summary:

Weeds are a major production concern for soybean producers throughout Oklahoma. The introduction of Roundup-Ready technology revolutionized weed control in many crops including soybean, but this system led many growers to rely solely on glyphosate in their soybean production. Other weed management systems must be evaluated. Project objectives include investigating weed management practices that effectively and economically control weeds; investigating pre-emergence and post-emergence residual herbicides in conjunction with glyphosate; developing weed management systems that will most effectively control weeds but also protect the future utility; and use the results from these studies in extension presentations and publications.

Key Benefactors:
farmers, agronomists, ag retailers, extension specialists
