Brief Project Summary:

Varieties differ in their response to environmental conditions, soil resources and pest tolerance. Most of the soybean varieties available to Pennsylvania growers are developed in other regions of the U.S. Tests will be established at the Southeast Field Research Lab in Lancaster County and at the Russell Larson Research Center in Centre County. Soybean maturity groups II and III are evaluated at the Centre County site; maturity groups III and IV are evaluated at the Lancaster site. Varieties will also be evaluated when planted after winter wheat at the Lancaster site. The parameters to be measured at each site are: yield, maturity, lodging, plant height, seed quality and oil/protein...
