Brief Project Summary:

We will continue to screen grower-submitted waterhemp samples for resistances to glyphosate, PPO inhibitors, and ALS inhibitors using molecular tests. In addition, we will also begin accepting Palmer amaranth samples for glyphosate-resistance testing. These activities provide a direct and tangible return to IL soybean farmers (knowledge of resistant biotypes within their own fields), as well as enable us to track the spread of multiple-resistant biotypes throughout the state.
