Brief Project Summary:

Successful weed management in soybeans depends not only upon reacting to current problems but on anticipating future challenges. Two factors have the potential to greatly expand the area in Illinois where Palmer amaranth causes yield loss in soybeans herbicide resistance and changes in weather patterns. The researchers will conduct common field experiments in Illinois as an early-warning system for potential soybean yield loss due to competition from Palmer amaranth.
