Brief Project Summary:

The goal of this continuing project is to annually recognize and reward top dry-land and irrigated soybean producers in Wisconsin. The contest is organized to encourage the development of new and innovative management practices and to show the importance of using sound cultural practices in Wisconsin soybean production.

In 2010, soybean growers involved in the program reported soybean yields of 61.7 to 75.9 bushels per acre. The contest's entry form provided a lot of information on those production variables that impacted yield. This information was widely used at Extension educational meetings and field days.
