Brief Project Summary:

The goal of this project is to provide an app that allows Kentucky producers to accurately calculate and compare the price offered by elevators considering delivery costs and high-moisture discounts for grain as it is harvested. This project directly targets the Kentucky Soybean Board's research goal of reducing the cost of producing soybeans. All elevators charge a moisture discount for accepting wet grain. However, these discounts vary by elevator as does the basis, and the transportation cost from field to elevator. This makes calculating the costs associated with moisture discounts difficult.
