Brief Project Summary:

Increasing soybean yields is a vital to Minnesota growers. Despite major progress in breeding and genetics, there is currently a ‘phenotyping bottleneck’ to identifying novel traits that boost yields in short-season Minnesota environments. Recently, we have assembled evidence indicating that a novel trait, consisting of maximizing whole-plant canopy conductance, allows for increasing yield potential by maximizing CO2 and nutrients uptake by the plant. The Sadok lab developed a high-throughput, precision-phenotyping system which makes it possible to screen entire mapping populations for enhanced canopy conductance. Our goal for this project is to use this platform to identify major genes...

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
