Brief Project Summary:

With the arrival of two invasive pests of soybean, the soybean aphid and soybean rust, there is increasing interest in use of pesticides in soybean production. Each year growers are provided new options with novel insecticides to use against soybean aphids and other insects. Recently, U.S. chemical industry promoted application of foliar fungicides, and to some extent foliar insecticides, to soybean to increase overall "soybean health". But the economic benefits of such applications are inconsistent and not well documented.
