Project Summary

The overall goal of the project is to learn more about the nature of the consistent relationship between soybean cyst nematode (SCN) population densities (numbers) and soil pH.

Project Objectives

1. Determine if soil pH affects SCN reproduction on the soybean plant systemically.
2. Determine if the effect of soil pH on SCN population densities occurs after application of lime to soil.
3. Determine if soil pH affects how well the SCN resistance source PI 88788 suppresses SCN reproduction.
