Brief Project Summary:

High soybean prices have caused many growers to seek out intensive management strategies to maximize soybean yield and profit. One of these strategies is the application of the herbicide lactofen (Cobra) to early vegetative soybeans. Yield increases observed from the application of lactofen were thought to be due to increased branching. However, yield component analysis conducted in 2012 found that lactofen does not cause increased branching when compared to untreated plants. This means that lactofen may increase yield due to other physiological mechanisms. One possible mechanism is the activation or up-regulation of genes in soybeans that help the plants deal with stress during the pod...

Final Project Results

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
