Brief Project Summary:

North Carolina producers rely on official variety trials to determine which soybean cultivars will be most advantageous on their farms. The N.C. State University breeding program will test its most advanced breeding lines in the trials prior to release to farmers. The cost of entering lines in the trials is a significant bottleneck for cultivar releases. This project provides funding to increase the probability that advanced lines will be released to growers in a timely manner.
