Brief Project Summary:

The strategic objective of our project is to delineate gene networks that contribute to protein, oil and other compositional traits of the soybean seed through application of cutting edge genomics and biotechnology approaches. Once control points in the gene expression program are known, they can be manipulated either through marker-assisted breeding to improve varieties or by the biotechnology industry to produce transgenic plants with altered properties. The quantity of proteins and oils is a factor in overall yield of the plant and is important to keep soybeans competitive in world markets as a high quality source of animal feed.

Final Project Results

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
